Greene’s research and teaching have focused on the relationship between writing and learning in higher education and the acquisition of literacy. His research examines the history of education; civil rights legislation and policy; minority opportunity in public schools; intersections among poverty, race and achievement in public schools; culturally-relevant pedagogy; parent involvement and community based research. Greene also serves as associate dean for undergraduate studies in Notre Dame’s College of Arts and Letters and previously served as O’Malley Director of the University Writing Program.
