Areas of Expertise

Chemical sensors, optoelectronic materials and devices, water purification

Bohn researches molecular transport on the nanoscale; the development of optical spectroscopic measurement strategies for surface and interfacial structure-function studies; optoelectronic materials and devices, chemical sensors and molecular approaches to nanotechnology. He was one of the co-authors of a notable Nature paper establishing an aggressive research agenda to address problems central to providing clean water in adequate quantities across the world’s diverse populations. Bohn is a member of the Royal Society of Chemistry, the American Chemical Society (ACS) and a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science. He also serves as North American associate editor of The Analyst by the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC).
