A native of Ireland, Darby specializes in ethnic conflict and peace processes around the world. He is the co-director of the Peace Accords Matrix, a major project to collect, analyze and allow scholars and negotiators to compare data on comprehensive peace agreements. Darby was a founding director of INCORE, a joint project of the United Nations University and the University of Ulster to address the causes and consequences of conflict in Northern Ireland and internationally. He is the author and editor of many books, including “The Management of Peace Processes,” “Guns and Government,” “The Effects of Violence on Peace Processes,” “Contemporary Peacemaking,” “Violence and Reconstruction” and “Peacebuilding after Peace Accords.”
