A nationally recognized expert in public opinion, elections and voting behavior, Davis is the author of “Negative Liberty: Public Opinion and the Terrorist Attacks on America.” He says, “Presidential polling is not always an accurate predictor and results often are misleading; one can get public opinion polls to say what people want them to say.” Davis’ research includes political and social consequences of fear, political correctness, measurement of racial attitudes, political tolerance, and the social-psychology of African American political attitudes and behavior.
