19th and 20th century Ireland, the Irish Revival, contemporary Irish-language fiction, the European Fin de Siècle, Modernism, Post-Modernism, the Irish language among the Diaspora.
Ó Conchubhair (pronounced BREE-an O KAHN-uh-coor), a fellow in Notre Dame’s Keough-Naughton Institute for Irish Studies, previously taught at Katolicke Uniwersytet Lubelski (Poland), Nat. Uni. Of Ireland, Galway and Boston College, as well as summer language programs at the University of California, Berkeley and Harvard University. His publications include “Gearrscéalta Ár Linne”, “Why Irish? Irish Language and Literature in Academia”, “Fin de Siècle na Gaeilge: Darwin, an Athbheochan, agus smaointeoireacht na hEorpa”. He was series editor for “Kerry’s Fighting Story, 1916-1921”, “Rebel Cork’s Fighting Story, 1916-1921”, “Limerick’s Fighting Story, 1916-1921”, “Dublin’s Fighting Story, 1916-1921”. His current research project deals with Irish-language modernism.
